Poster & Presentation Guidelines
Presentation Guidelines
- PowerPoint 2000 or later is the only acceptable presenting format.
- For breakout session speakers: Limit the length of the talk to 15 minutes (4-5 minutes of questions). You may keep 1 or 2 slides after the last slide of your formal presentation that can be added to address questions or if there is extra time in the session.
- For Plenary speakers: Limit the length of the talk to 30 minutes with 10-15 minutes of questions. You may keep 1 or 2 slides after the last slide of your formal presentation that can be added to address questions or if there is extra time in the session.
- Follow guidelines such as those on this website (http://kinesiology.boisestate.edu/kines442/tips_for_making_effective_powerp.htm) for a more effective presentation. Use a good mix of pictures, graphs and text.
- Keep the file size to less than 3 MB whenever possible. If you bring a movie to be shown during your presentation, you must bring the actual movie file with you as well as the PowerPoint presentation.
- Bring your talk on two forms of removable media, such as a thumb drive and a CD-ROM. Do not bring 3.5" floppy disks, Zip disks or tape drives.
